It turns out that musical creativity and communication, can translate organically into visual art – it’s all about ideas and it’s more or less the same personal process. Instead of manipulating the colours, tones and textures of sound you can achieve the same thing in a painting - exploring composition, improvisation, rhythm and harmony visually. The objective is the same – to create original art that makes people feel something.
I am a musician and composer of jazz, experimental music and French chanson. Having discovered the paintbrush and Breton fisherman’s smock, I now focus my energy on creating a sort of visual music that evokes distant memories, moods and half-imagined scenes. My work embraces ambiguity both intentional and unintentional and deploys a psychological quality with a whiff of humour
